$

Hello,

I am working on a Thin Client deployment with the new Horizon View client. I am running into a problem with the Cloud Connection Manager that if a user fails to authenticate the the connection manager closes out and in order to relaunch it Administrative credintals are required. Also if a user closes out of the Herizonview session again the manager closes and the same is required again to relaunch it.

Thanks

Hi. To connect Wi-Fi module needed linux-headers-3.8.13-hp. But they are not pre-installed. Where to find them?

HP Device Manager mistakenly was DELETED! How to get back control of the thin clients in this case?

Good day to everyone (and i'm realy sorry about my clumsy English, it's not my native language).

A few days ago the VM with our HP Device Manager was mistakenly deleted. There is no backups, no images and since that - no ways to restore it. How to get back control of thin clients (>500 widespread all over the country) in this case? I can install new instance of HPDM but I have no communication keys. I can install new instance of HPDM but it's useless because I have no communication keys from previous instance. I dont know how to handle this problem. I need to do my best or my boss will kill me (joke). Seriously I need help as quickly as possible.
Thanks...

t5740 5.1.983.WES0 configuration issues

I am in the process of tyring to configure our t5740s with the latestes verson of the Embeded software 5.1.983.WES0.  In the older version we have the login sequences to autologin user then go through an other login with Improvada that will bring up a completly blank desktop showing the VM that particular use has access to.

When I set up the .983 version following the procedures we have for the older OS I am getting to extra windows one is My Documnets and the other is a warning box that says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

Going into the event viewer shows that the only error is Event ID 104 and says the source is SRService with a description of "The System Restore initialization process failed."

I have googled around and the most common fixes for both issues do not work.   Any ideas of where to go?

Hi there,

I'd like to update the BIOS of a bunch of T620's through HPDM (4.6SP3). I couldn't really find any command line switches for the specific BIOS update file so I'm not sure how to script this. Can anyone give me a push in the right direction?

BIOS file:

Hi everybody,

I have an problem, the problem is that I cant update the agent if I watch the logs it says 'Failed to create Update.exe process'.
When I do a Respository Management test the test says that everything is fine and should work, but it didn't.  I'm searching a whole time to fix the problem but I cant troubleshoot the problem.

I hope that some of you could resolve the problem, thanks in advanced.

Joey

P.S.: Look the attachments for the code, and I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 with the last installed update's.

This program has been blocked for your protection/An Administrator has blocked you from running this program

If you get a message saying, “Publisher: Not trusted,” the application or program you are attempting to use may become blocked while downloading, installing or running.

The Windows User Account Control message may look like this.

This message may indicate that the program is prevented from installing or working. In some instances the program will work but you may have limited functionality.

T510 Windows 7 Embedded - Disabling USB

$

Hi All,

I have T510 thin clients running Windows 7 Embedded.

I have a query regarding disabling USB devices - plugged into our USB ports on the back are of course the keyboard and mouse devices. On the front (because we use digital dictation) we have a USB device for the recorder or a USB device for the footpedal.

Due to security policies we have in place, users are not allowed to plug their own USB thumbdrives/flashdrives as of course they could have a virus on the drive etc.

Is there a way that we can keep enabled the regular USB devices (keyboard/mouse/recorder/footpedal) but disable USB thumbdrives/flashdrives from being read on the thin client?

Any help/suggestions are welcome! Thank you very much!

When I went from 4.4 to 5, it kept on reimmaging the device, a total of 3 times.

Can someone shed some light on this?  This only started since we upgraded from 4.6 SP 1 to 4.6 SP3.

Thank you in advance

HPDM Discover devices over WAN

I am lookinga t deploying HPDM to approx. 450 thin clients. The main question I have is, how are devices discovered across a WAN link? I see that you can insert the HPDM Gateway address in the Agent on the Thin Client, does this make the client report back to that IP address or do they still send out broadcast messages?

Trying to create USB image of Win7E for T620 version 14WWZDBE301

I have downloaded the 14WWZDBE301 image consisting of SP67357 SP67358 and SP67358. They extract successfully but after clicking "USB Format" and then selecting the USB flash drive letter. Then after selecting "Format" nothing happens. The screen just instantly returns to the HP Thin client imaging tool screen.

I tried this first on an Win7 computer and then redownloaded onto a WinXP machine. Even tried two different flash drives on both computers. One a Sandisk 8gb and the other a 16gb.

What could be the issue?

HP Device Manager 4.6 SP3 Upgrade (OpenSSL Vulnerability)

Hey!

I've installed the HP Device Manager 4.6 SP3 Upgrade and our Vulnerability Scanner still shows that the OpenSSL Version used is vulnerable.

Also the details of libeay23.dll and ssleay32.dll still show they're version 0.9.8.24 and not  1.0.1i..

Did I do anything wrong during the upgrade?

I've tried the setup/upgrade process on 3 different machines now and the version's the same on all setups..

Any Advice

Thanks!

Georg

Manually install Citrix Receiver 13.1 on ThinPro 3.x ARM (t5325)

Hello,

I've got multiple t5325 that only have ThinPro 3.3 with ICA 12.

This doesn't work with the latest Citrix 7.6, that I want to use.

Is there a way to get ICA 13.1 installed on those devices?

Disable/Skip Easy Tools at Startup

$

After updating the image on a t510 to ThinPro T6X44102, I was unable to find a setting to disable the 'Easy Tools Wizard' at startup.

I have resolved it by editing the registry, but I thought I should be able to select something in the control panel?  I know I did in the earlier version.  I must be missing something simple and this will likely be a 'doh!' moment - I'm sure I've looked everywhere though.

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks

Klaus

ThinPro 5.0 and Server 2012 R2 - How to get smart cards to work

$

Greetings!

We have about 150 t510s in our health clinic.  We have rolled out a new 2012 R2 server farm and would very much like to move our users to it, but we have hit a snag.

We have upgraded a test t510 to ThinPro 5.0.  We set up a connection to the RD broker and it works great when we log in with a username and password.  However, when we go to log in with a smart card, we get an error:

"Please use external device to unlock the smart card."

About a second later, the logon screen is replaced with another screen with the following error messages:

"The PIN could not be verified.  Your credentials could not be verified."

Now, we can use smart cards to log in to the 2012 R2 farm on any other machine, just not the t510 thin clients.  HP support seems to think it is a group policy setting, but can't seem to tell me what setting would prevent only ThinPro clients from passing credentials from the smart card to the server.  I have already added the certificates to the Local CA on the thin client, updated freeRDP, even tried adding arguments to the freeRDP connection in the registry editor.

Has anyone else successfully used smart cards to log in to a 2012 R2 server using ThinPro?

We have disabled disk write protectiion.

HPDM 4.6 SP3 does not discover recently updated t510 client

$

Hi everyone,

I recently updated our HPDM and Gateway server to 4.6 SP3 from 4.5 SP4.

After the update, I went and manually updated an HP t510 thin client using the "Easy Update" tool.  I installed as many update packages that I could, and then it eventually rebooted.  After the reboot, it dropped off the HP Device Manager console, and it will no longer discover and I can't add it manually either.

The client has the same IP address as before.  The client is running ThinPro 4.4 OS Build "T6X44017" and Agent version 4.5.3668.18318.  Any ideas on how to get the HPDM to detect this client again?  I have other clients on these same versions, but I didn't run in the latest package updates from Easy Update on those, and they are still detected.

Any ideas?  Thanks.

I'm trying to install this "KIT-Java" web browser addon version 1384409971 from the HP Easy Update tool on a t510 running ThinPro 4.4 OS, but it fails with this error that I'm having trouble parsing why it's failing.  Can somone look at this and let me know if they can spot the issue?  Any help us much appreciated!

Where can I download the Citrix Receiver 13.1? The only driver available in the website is for 13.0 which is causing major issues with my clients since it makes the CTRL key stick, extremely annoying. There is a new version of the receiver on the citrix site 13.1 but I need the xar format or instructions on how I can install this manually.
