T510 ThinPro client not mapping through USB thumb drive

I have an HP T510 ThinPro client and am struggling to map through a USB memory stick (thumb drive).  I tried two different brands.  The thin connects to a Windows 2012 server via RDP.  I have configured the thin client to map USB Drives to RDP7.

 

It sometimes shows uo in My Computer when connected to the RDP session, but when it does, I can click on the drive, see a file listing then it dissapears immediately from Explorer.  Back on the thin I can see it is mounted from /dev/sdb1.  Why does it show up in Explorer then when you navigate folders on it, it auto ejects?

T510 EWF not Working

Hello,

 

i have some brand new HP T510 TCs and all with the same problem.

When I try to activte EWF, im getting an error, as "interactive service-message", that no protected volumes can be found.

'EwfMgrGetProtectedVolumesList failed with error: 0x00000003'

'System cannot find the specified path'

 

Anybody here, who had this error (and solved it) ? Or what am I donig wrong?!

 

I Just started the TC, logged on as the local admin and tried "Enable EWF" from the (red) tray-icon.

Hostname after Imaging

Hi,

 

I have an intermittent problem with the thinclient hostname reverting to the same name used on the master image after imaging.

 

Is there a way to script the backup of the current hostname, imaging the thin client and then re-applying the original hostname during an imaging task ?

 

Alternatively is there a way of preping the master image before capture to remove the hostname ?

 

We are using HP Device Manager 4.5 SP4 and T510 Thinpro 4 Latest build T6X44017

t510 Remote FX and VMware Virtualized 2008R2 Remote Session Host server

Hi,

 

I am curious if the t510 would give any benefit with Remote FX if the Windows 2008 R2 Remote Session host server is virtualized on VMware. I read "The processor in the RemoteFX server must support Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2)." I am assuming with VMware vurtualized hardware that this would be lacking, does anyone know for sure?

 

Would the t410 be just that same experience considering this backend?

Internet explorer on HP T610 ThinClient (HP Thin Pro OS)

Can any one help me how we install the Internet explorer on HP T610 ThinClient which is having HP Thin Pro OS .

 

We have some compatibility issues while using Mozilla which is inbuilt with HP Thin Pro OS.

HP Device Manager 4.5 - Additional Report Types.

Is it possible to obtain more Report Types?  My install of HPDM only came with two. 

  • Device 
  • Task

Does HP have a repoository of more reports.  Does HP publish a guide to building your own?  I would like to add and remove some fields but am un-aware of how to do so.  The HP Device Manager User Guide doesn't include directions other than

T510 zero client using RDP - no sound

We have new T510s running as zero thin clients off a Windows 2008 R2 Server using RDP.  All is well but there is no sound.  The thin clients say "Audio service is not running."  The server itself has no sound hardware/software.

 

Sorry for such a newbie question, but can someone point me in the right direction?  I've read / am reading manuals, forums, ...

Deploying Thinstate Capture Images on T5740e

Hi,

 

I am new to the thin client world and am trying to lock down the best process for deploying a SOE to thin clients from a build machine.

 

Having configured a T5740e with the settings I want, I have used the ThinState capture tool to clone that OS to a USB key. I can then boot from that USB key to other clients and image them. However, this is a pretty slow process and requires multiple USB keys to image multiple clients simulataneously.

 

Is there a way to store this SOE on a server and deploy it to multiple clients via the network via FTP or another protocol? I think this would be a much better way to achieve this deployment task.

Newb for a thin Gt7725

Hey everyone. Im going nuts here and going nowhere. I purchased this unit a few months back for a good price. Its brand new but the flash disk was removed. For starters I can't find any info on the fash disk. I purchased a super talent 8gb. For starters the Bois doesn't see it. I had Linux running off a USB but IM not happy with it. I would like to get  some kind of ms running. Im hoping to replace an old laptop that i use to hold videos and a magic jack.

Any help would be Great. I have a computer background so IM not totally illiterate.

Have a t610 that upon boot scrolls - Respawn

I have been searching and found this is probably because of a corrupt xorg.conf file

 

But I cannot get it to stop scrolling at boot to login to root.

 

I need to delete the file from what I have read.  Any thoughts?

 

Also I have read that if I flash the bios from the ESC - Utilities menu it may fix it.  But I cannot find the bios image file to put on my USB device.  All I find are installers that work from the OS.  I cannt get to the OS.  Where might I get the file?  Not the SPxyz.exe file.

Turning on RDP automatically

I'm in the midst of testing rollouts of the 4.5 image of XP for thin clients onto T5740a 

I have  many of these in remote locations and am trying to automate (or control) as much as possible.

 

Issue I found that as the image begins to be pushed on the client, VNC no longer starts.

I then thought I'd use RDP to monitor the client for the various prompts that come up. I turned it on, pushed a new agent to the client, and it rebooted twice.

 

I found that RDP had now been turned off.

 

Is there a way to keep RDP on all the time?

Hi,

 

Is it possible with device manager template sequences to read a registry value from a thinpro client and then depending on the value exit the template sequence or carry on running additional tasks ?

 

Basically I've created a 'Version' registry entry and what I would like to do is read that value and if not equal to the current version, run an imaging task to update to latest image version

t410 AiO using VMware View Client

When I try to connect to my view desktop using the vmware view client, the avaiable desktops are listed with Microsoft RDP. I want use Teradici PCoIP, but the option is not there.

 

When I try to connect I get the following error:

 

This display does not support the requested display protocol. What am I missing.

T510 zero client - default admin mode password?

We have T510 zero clients, and I want to get into admin mode on them, but I don't have the password (the person that set them up is not available).  I don't see a default password mentioned in the manual.  Is there one, or is there a way around this?

new t610 with WES8 - just want to RDP

Hi, I've got a brand new T610 with WES8 on it and everything is going great except the most important part.

 

I can't seem to figure out how to tell it to go to RDP when the user logins in.  Don't stop at the metro, don't stop at the desktop, just go to RDP.

 

I've tried everything, I'm thinking this should be easy, so I must be missing some simple concept.

 

Once I get that solved, i'd like to make it so that when they get out, the logon prompt for the RDP will re-display.

 

So far, no joy.

HP Smart Zero Image Z6X44017 does not allow me to log in with smart card.

I have a HP T610 with Smart Zero Thin Client and I cannot  get the Smart Zero software to reconize the smart card at login.  How do I to use Smart Zero Client Services 4.4.0 and HP Profile Editor to enable smart cards?  Can you configure it without the HP Profile Editor of the xml file?

One of the previous image works just fine this one is.

 

I've called HP Technical support and when the did the upgrade to the current version they have the same issue.

t510 dual video has good digital output but grainy analog output

we are using the t510 thin client with dual video outputs...one using the digital output and the analog output with an adapter.  the digital output is crisp and clear, but the analog side is grainy and hard to see.  i have used identical monitors, tried readjusting the resolution etc but nothing is making the analog output any clearer.  is there a solution to this for clear output for both monitors?  i have wondered why there is not a thin client with identical outputs be they digital or analog, in order to get the same output on the monitors.  anyone got any ideas?

HP t5730 factory reset and hook up to hyper-v

I bought a few used HP T5730 thin clients. They have windows xp embedded installed. 

 

Problem 1

When I turn them on they boot into xp but then an error comes up and says it cannot connect to the citrix server. What can I do to reset these to factory so XP does not have any settings?

 

Problem 2

I have a Win 2012 server with hyper-v installed and a test VM with windows 7. What do I need to do in order for the thin client to connect to it? Does the thin client boot directly to the hyper-v VM or does it need to log into xp mode first then rdp into the VM?

HPDM 4.4 AND T5325

I have hpdm 4.4.3 installed and have t5325's running agent 4.1,4.2 and 4.4 and need to push an updated image to them, and am getting error code 1400052 when i try to push an image to the 4.1 / 4.2 clients (havent tried 4.4 yet).   

 

i run the update agent and it completes successfully, however the devices never reboot or update, you would think 4.4 is backward compatible with all agents....please help as i have to update about 50 devices around the country....thank you.

 

ps - i've called HP support numerous times and dont seem to be getting anywhere with them.....i'd like to use hpdm 4.5 to control all of my devices if thats possible too.
