Connecting a thin client to a connection broker

Is it possible to configure a t5300 to connect to a virtual desktop via a connection broker?

Using the lastest RDP client on an XP machine, I can connect using the following RDP file:

redirectclipboard:i:1
redirectprinters:i:1
redirectcomports:i:0
redirectsmartcards:i:1
devicestoredirect:s:*
drivestoredirect:s:*
redirectdrives:i:1
session bpp:i:32
prompt for credentials on client:i:1
server port:i:3389
allow font smoothing:i:1
promptcredentialonce:i:1
videoplaybackmode:i:1
audiocapturemode:i:1
gatewayusagemethod:i:2
gatewayprofileusagemethod:i:1
gatewaycredentialssource:i:0
full address:s:RCVDI.SCHOOL.NZ
gatewayhostname:s:webaccess.school.nz
workspace id:s:RCVDI..SCHOOL.NZ
use redirection server name:i:1
loadbalanceinfo:s:tsv://VMResource.1.Remote_Users
use multimon:i:1

However the RDP client on the thin client does not seem to use these settings.

I have updated the thin client image to what I presume is the latest image and am now wondering if there is a way to update the RDP client or some other method of connection?

HP Thin Pro OS?

hi

What kind of operating system uses the newest update of HP ThinPro for t510 thin client?

Some Question to HP t510

Good day community,

I ask about HP t510 two:

1 Question: How can I connect an iPhone to the HP t510, so it is passed to the Citrix session? With Android smartphones it works without problems. If it is connecting the iPhone to the PC clean at the Citrix passed not only to the HP t510. Under USB devices I see t510 the iPhone, but it will not be passed to the Citrix session.

2 Question: What do you have to the HP t510 set which you can connect two monitors such as the PC and the image is enlarged and not duplicated?

I hope you can help me a little further and sorry for the bad English.

With best regards from Germany

newest firmware for HP ThinPro t510

hi

I need a new linux firmware for HP ThinPro t510.
There are many updates on HP website and really don't know which is the newest.

HPDM 4.6 - Error Code 1068032 - only on t5570e thin clients t510 thin clients unaffected.

This issue started in the HPDM 4.5 SP3.  I started to get error only on the t5570e thin clients.  When imaging anhy t510 with the exact same image it works just fine.

The image being sent, was created on one of the very thin clients that no longer will take that image and gives off the error in 4.5 SP3 of

I have rebuilt the repository, made sure that the Shared Repository worked and communicated and did this with each upgrade as well. As I thought maybe this was some glitch and would be repaired with upgrading to SP4 and eventually 4.6, none of which have worked any better or differently.  Although in 4.6 the error code changed and there was a bit more information in the error, but nothing that pointed to anything but the shared repository and access to it.  Which would make sense if this was happening to the t510's as well, which it is not, they image perfectly just as designed.

The 4.5 SP3 was working very well up this started.

Has anyone seen anything similar to this?  Any ideas of what else to try to help these thin clients take an image?  I have been able to put back on the t5570e's their factory image as well and this doesn't help either.  Is there a hardware factory reset that I can try?

The thin clients are bricks otherwise as they are unimagable.

Thank you all in advance for your assistance.

I have rolled back to what used to work 4.5 SP3 as it was and still is proven at some of the locations in our enterprise to work very well.  Except for mine and one other location, where this issue has us dead in our tracks.

HP T510 WES7 RDP8 black screen RemoteFX USB redirection

Hi,

we have a problem with Server 2012 R2 RDS and RemoteFX USB Redirection. Sometimes the RDS service crashes partly. If this happens and you open up a RDP Connection with the server you only get a black screen and the connection drops after  a few seconds. On the server you can see winlogon event 4005 ("The Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated.") after connecting to the "black screen". The problem can be temporarily fixed by restarting the server.

If we disable RemoteFX USB Redirection respectively "PNP-Device redirection" on the RDS collection the problem does not occur anymore. The problem is that we need RemoteFX to work flawlessly for our Lync Phone Edition devices (Polycom CX600).

We opened a case at MS and they blame our HP ThinClients (t510/WES7) for the problem (details in German http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/de-DE/1eb99e4a-a857-4abd-9fd8-a11bb39b088b).

Microsoft recommended us to install an Updaterollup http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2775511 on the thinclients. Unfortunately the setup doesn't work on WES7. Is there anything we can do on this case? Is it supported to manually install MS Updates on HP Thin Clients?

T610 CTRL+ALT+DEL Hotkey filter

Hi

Anyone had any luck with HP WES7 Add-On (Hotkey Filter). Looks like we might finally block CTRL+ALT+DEL being intercepted by WindowsEmbedded when VMware View is full screen (shame VMware don't lift their keyboard filter from localmode client to regular client but thats another story...)

Using it with View Client v5.4.0 and HP Connection Manager.

Have hotkey filter enabled on T610 WES7E.

Tried as local User account in workgroup and as a domain user in domain.

CTRL+ALT+DEL is not filtered when View is running full screen. Still getting thin client security screen instead of remote VM.

Upgrading HPDM 4.5SP3 to newer version.

I am new to all this and am in the process of moving my HPDM off a VS to a standalone box.  We have T610's and T620's running WES7 and thin's,T5565's running ThinPro3.  My question is can I upgrade to 4.6 or do I need to do it in version order? And I should be able to use the old DB and just point HPDM on the new server to it, correct?

Smart Client or ThinPro OS

Looking at purchasing sme new thin clients (t510, t610 or t620) and am wondering what are the advatanges/disadvantages to which OS you chose.  I currently have mosty the t410 thin clients with the Smart Client OS but am wondering if the ThinPro OS would give us better performance or really what it does that the SmartClient OS doesn't do.  Does anyone have any advice?

We are using the thin clients with Citrix VDI-in-a-Box version 5.4 and connecting with the Citirix ICA protocol.

Thank you.

SCCM Config Manager Client - why is it pre-installed?

Just curious as to why the SCCM Configruation Manager client is installed on the base image for Win7E devices?

How do you point it to your own management point? I can't seem to manage to do that and the only way I can uninstall it is by calling ccmsetup.exe /uninstall from the manage point server, then re-pushing the client from the sccm server to get its Site Settings updated.

Smart Zero Client - option 137 multiple sites

All,

Am hoping someone can help me out here. I have setup and configured HP Profile Editor, option137 and several shared folders on IIS. All work fine. option 137 is set on the scope for a particular country. Every one logs in and all is good.

However I have a request whereby on the same  (Geographic) site as existing zero clients, they want to autologin two seperate zero clients, as 2 seperate users, connecting to 2 seperate citrix published apps. The only way I can see of getting these to work is to create 2 new VLANS, 2 new IIS shared folders each with their own autologin settings, and option 137 set on each vlan to point to its corresponding folder.

Our network guys are not impressed about having to start creating more VLAN's than necessary so would like to know if there is a way of limiting this down.

Has anyone come across this before? if so can you help out please.

Regards,

Karl.

Hp Thin Client - T510 - Local Printing

$

Hello,

I know this question has been asked a few times and I have trawled through many posts, but I cannot find an answer.

I have been trying to connect an HP Officejet 8000 Pro to a HP T510 via USB for local printing.

I have edited settings so that the printer transfers over into RDP, which is has, but the documents do not print properly!

I was wondering if local printing is even possible - and if so, am I just using the wrong printer?

I have installed the correct drivers onto the sever and have even installed the HP Universal Print Driver incase it was a driver issue - but nothing seems to work!

Thanks

Caroline

HPDM - Task Sequences with reboots don't work unless you login after each reboot

$

After setting up simple tasks in HPDM (Deploy Image, Deploy Files, run Script, reboot, run a command) will not work unless I login at the logon screen after each reboot.

It will just sit at the logon screen (where you pick "Administrator" or "User". I've timed it over an hour just sitting there before I intervened and logged in as Administrator, when I finally got the HPDM Agent Message that the system was going to reboot in 30 seconds.

Other times I've noticed I could just move the mouse after it sitting at the logon screen for a while, then it'd instantly kick in the HPDM Message on the client that it's going to reboot.

I'd prefer not to have to keep AutoAdminLogon set to login as Admin every time after each reboot. I know I can script that to turn off before the final reboot via a Registry operation, but it's kind of a security risk if I'm deploying a task sequence to a comptuer I am not at. An end-user sitting at the computer could get temporary Admin access if that were the case.

t610 Plus (Windows Embedded 7): Timezone won't stick

$

We are evaluating T610+ devices for a desktop replacement, and have struck one last problem with the units out of the box.

The timezone defaults to Eastern Time, and even though I can change it to Sydney time through the control panel, when the unit is restarted. the unit reverts to Eastern.

This causes presentation issues for us because the citrix receiver picks up these settings, so then the user gets the wrong information, and could cause issues with calendar apps and the like.

How can we make the change "stick" for hundreds of clients without having to touch each unit?  Is device manager the best solution?

Thanks in advance.

Device Manager 4.6 repository configuration

$

Hello everyone. I'm an HP Device Manger newbie who could use a little help.

After a complete installation on a single server, when I launch the application, I'm prompted to configure a master repository. Said prompt specifically asks for a username, password and a path to the HPDM directory. When I enter the root credentials I created during installation, the process fails with a "Failed to connect repository Master Repository with protocol FTP."

What might I be doing wrong here? Unfortunately, I don't have any other credentials to enter. Root was the only account I created when I installed HPDM.

Lastly, if I also wanted to use shared folders, what username and password should I enter; local administrator?

Thank you for reading this.
