Hi All,
If we use PXE do we have to have a Gateway on every subnet we have thin clients in? Is this why we always want to do PXE-less images?

We are using t610 image version 286 and have a large number of clients that had quit working (no policy update). We have opened a ticket with MS and one of the things they want us to do is uninstall the “Windows Embedded Device Manager” they believe it could interfere with the 2012 client(although they have provided no documentation that it needs to be uninstalled before moving to the 2012 client). When you have moved to the 2012 client did you leave this or uninstall it?
Thanks
Allen
Hi, I'm really hoping someone has a solution to this, as it's been frustrating me for over a week.
I've installed the latest base image from HPs website via USB stick onto a thin client (T5740E, WES7). I've then used HPDM (4.6) to capture that image, as a baseline for the "fleet" of T5740E's we have across the organisation.
The issue is, once I deploy that image to other thin clients via HPDM - the Administrator account appears to lose their admin rights and cannot access the C drive, nor see any of the HP utilities in the Control Panel (i.e. for adjusting the RAMdrive etc). Does anyone have any idea what is going on here and how I could fix it?
For the record, this same process on a T510 (also running WES7) has the same issue, but it works fine on a T5740 running WES2009, so this appears to be a WES7 problem.
Hi Everybody
Until Yesterday I used the HPDM 4.4.3610.13987 and everything worked fine. I used it to administrate my HP ThinPro 3 devices. For testing, I received the device version T6X43202 that belongs to ThinPro 4. I was not able to Pull or Clone the Image of my correctly configured device.
Therefore I updated to HPDM 4.5.3610.16261. Every time I try to run one of the tasks there is a message that my action may take a long time because the device is behind a NAT.
However I started a task at 5 P.M. Yesterday - that is still waiting... Is there a known workaround to make the task run faster again?

Hallo Allerseits
Hello every one!
I have a problem with a Pull Connection Settings from a device.
I have a HP Device Manager 4.6 and HP thin clients t510 with T6X44017 firmware.
When I set template "Pull Connection Settings from a device" and select t510 thin client with RDP 7 connetions It save a new connection template.
But when I set new template to thin client I can't select my RDP connections, It not exist in template.
How I can fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Setup one thin client the way we want and created a USB copy using the imaging tool. When applying the image to other Thin clients it fails, resulting in a "ERROR: Failed to apply image [err = 112]" message. Usually in the end of the copy process.
I already updated the thin client with SP56383 and the only thin clients we have are the T5740E machines.
The original, by us configured thin client, has about 200MB left.
Hoping for some suggestions
Hello,
I need to setup RemoteApp and Desktop Connections on a t610/WES8. This works fine on the Admin account, but for the "User" account do I disable UWF, setup RADC, then re-enable UWF or are there file/registry exclusions I need to configure?
How do I send the RemoteApps and RDP connections to the "User" account's Metro/Desktop since RADC is not available in the Control Panel for this account?
Thanks,
zp.
Hi!
Is it possible to use thin client (for example HP t410) with laptop (Win7pro x64) or thin clients works with host system on server OS only?
I don’t need to work on laptop and thin client simultaneously, just need 20 meters remote monitor and keyboard.
Tnks!
Hello,
we just purchased an HP t510 thin client for testing purposes, and are having problems with the following setup :
Our server is Windows 2008R2 with Remote Apps.
The network is our local network.
If we use the thin client to connect to a full Remote Deskstop session, it's ok.
If a Windows 7 computer connects to a RemoteApp on the server, everything is fine,
but if the thin client connects to the same RemoteApp, the connection goes active for a few seconds then goes inactive.
In the logs there is only this message :
"Connection stopped
Connection starting
Manticore key is not present"

I'm unable to apply a new XPe image to my T5720 flash drive because of the error:
*** ERROR *** The system does not have license for the image OS.
After an inordinate amount of research, I've come to the conclusion that this is because my UUID and Serial Number in the BIOS were somehow corrupted / erased.
To be clear, this machine IS licensed. I had XPe on it, previously. The tag for the license is inside the case. But the values in the BIOS got erased, likely when I last flashed it.
According to HP Document ID: c01177338 (you'll have to search that number in the HP Support site--the link comes up invalid when pasted here), regarding the T5135 and T5530, this problem can occur when:
Hi All,
I am trying to find some information on the HPDM and/or Thinstate Image Capture and Deployment.
I would like to know how the process works from start to finish. I am quite familiar with MS SCCM DPM and WDS and would like to know more about the HP product.
In particular I would like to know how these processes preserve settings and what is renewed. I would have thought the process would use sysprep but it does not appear to.
I am having issues with a few registry settings and drivers being kept and renew, that is that old networks and adaptor settings are kept and new ones added so I end up with extra settings that just should not be there.
Is there any documentation available? I have read through the release notes and white papers but these do not address my issues.
What is the best practise to setup and caputer an image?
Thanks in advance,
it would be great to hear from some HP staff on this and I am sure plenty of others would find this useful too.
Is it possible to move the HP DM SQL database to a new SQL server without reinstalling HP DM?

Here is an odd issue that maybe someone here can shed some light on.
At work, we are running 23" Asus PB238 monitors on HP T310 zero clients. We've had several zero clients fail with no DVI output (known issue about a bad diode and HP is replacing the affected units)
The issue is, we have (so far) 6 monitors that have stopped showing on DVI, however, they haven't been connected to the failed zero clients, but are connected to some that have been identified that will fail.
I can test these monitors fully with a PC and I get a display using DVI, VGA and Display Port. However, testing on an HP T310, I don't get DVI output (no matter what T310 I use, i've tried it on six units and on two EVGA PD06's (same chipset).
Is it possible that a diode issue (or something else related to DVI) and go from the T310 over DVI and affect the monitor ? I'm not up on the pinouts, so I don't know for sure, but I suspect that one of the pinouts used by the teredici chipset in the zero clients has affected the monitor side and its not a pinout that a PC's DVI connector would use.
Any suggestions ?
Does anyone have any good info on performance gains of the t620 over the t610?
Looking specifically for RemoteFX and Lync 2013. We found that RemoteFX on the t610 produced some pretty choppy video.
Thanks,
zp.
We have approximately 20 subnets across 15 sites, some of which do not have local servers. We wanted to replace all desktops at these server-less locations with Thin Clients but have come across a major hurdle. We are unable to manage the Thin Clients on other subnets to the full extent.
The Deployment Guide White Paper actually shows that only one gateway is required and that branches do not require one. However when I called HP and spoke to a technician we were told that in order to manage the Thin Clients through HPDM we have to have a "device management gateway" running on that subnet. I was also told this has to run on a server.
Is there anyway around this setup? I am sure this is not a unique situation.
Is there some port that is not open that needs to be perhaps?
Hi Everyone,
We've recently purchased a HP T510 SmartClient which is running ThinOS and is attached to a HP LaserJet 1300 via USB.
The Thin Client is connecting to a Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server, I've installed the HP UPD PCL5 drivers on the server, enabled printer redirection in the thin client, however the printer is not appearing as a redirected printer under "Printers and Faxes".
I have verified the thin client has detected the printer, and in the "Driver" field I've entered "HP Univeral Print PCL 5" in case the driver was not being assigned to the redirected printer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is my first experiance using HP thin clients (to which i've been extremely happy), so I'm sorry in advance if there's a simple step that I've missed.
Cheers,
Anthony
If you install the new Citrix Receiver version 13 that is available on a thin client like the t410 you now have a StoreFront Connection checkbox available on the login screen (see attachment). Does anyone know if it is possible to hide that or at least make it read only so a user can't check it?
Thanks.
Hi,
I have 5 HP t510 and 5 HP t5740 with to 2 GB flash memory.
I want to upgrade them to larger DOM (16 GB or 32 GB).
But the problem I found the DOM nowhere.
Need help.

Does anyone know with the best method would be with the latest HPDM and HP MT41 laptops for naming them based on their Asset Tags, and then joining them to the domain?
Does HPDM have these features built-in? Or would I have to approach this with scripting/WSname/sysprep/powershell/etc?
