HPDM 4.6 SP4 - ThinPro 5

I am doing some testing on my HP T510 Thin Client.  I updated the firmware on it to 5.1, and as soon as I did that, I can no longer see that thin client in my HPDM.  I updated the firmware by going through the HP Easy Update tool.  I tried adding the device by it's MAC Address too, but to no avail.  I've tried discovering every combination of options, but that hasn't worked either, so here I am.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hello,

I am trying to configure the MR for FTPS(ftp with ssl). When i am testing the connection in the Repository Editor it is failing to connect with the current ftps connection. THe shared connection is succesful.

I can succesfully connect with the Filezilla client to the ftps site.

The Filezilla give a warning of an unsigned certificate, when i click ok it is succesfully connected.

Configuration details:

-FTP site is hosted on the hpdm server(server 2012 R2) with IIS.

   - self-signed certificate

   - port 21

Can anyone tell me how i configure the Repository editor to connect to the ftp site?

Kind regards,

Child repository synchronizing....

Hi!

I have a HPDM 4.6 SP4

My Master Repository is working fine, I can capture images from clients and push them back.

When I create a new Child repository in the same sub net as the server I get problems.

The setup is verifed and tested, everything looks good.

But when i synchronize it will stop at synchronizing.

If I look at the new Child and in the Master FTP (FileZilla) logs, nothing is going on at all.

I found a error message in MasterRepositoryController.log

HP Device Manager 4.6 - Web-Based FTP

I know it's not quite the right spot, but I couldn't find a better one.  I have a basic question, possibly to be followed up by more questions depending on the answer.

Is it possible to set up the Master Repository Controller to be used with a web-based FTP site instead of a local one like FileZilla?

I have an HP t5565 that I need to boot in a headless environment.  How can I configure the device to do this?

Currently if I don't have a monitor attached, the device cannot be connected to via the Shadow VNC capabilities.

Thanks in advance.

t510 Lync VDI plugin

Hi,

We.ve got a strange problem with Lync VDI plugin running on our t510 clients. Machines are running Windows 7 Embedded (firmware 14WWZDBE301) and are connecting to RDS deployment running on 2012R2 server. Plugin is connecting and syncing with RDP session without any problems, all audio/video devices are correctly redirected, but from time to time (once per few calls) Lync client is stuck on "Connecting Call" for up to 10 seconds. We tested Lync VDI plugin and our deployment with other machines running both Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 8.1 Embedded and we have no similar problems. It looks like symptom is Thin Client related only.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Marcin

T620 Win7 embedded HP Cloud to WinServer 2008 Remote Desktop Farm

Hi,

We are deploying HP T620 and are having issues with two password prompts on login.

The first password prompt is a standard Windows 2008 Login screen, asking for a username and password

The second password prompt is a different log in screen, showing a thumbnail of the standard user icon with the users user ID and an 'other user' option

The machine is configured using the provided HP Easy Tools to connect as an RDP Appliance to our session based load balancer.

Easy Config Summary

Web Browser - No Connection

Desktop

Kiosk_mode - True

RDP

Name - rdp appliance

autostart - true

Address - [FQDN of load balancer]

XenApp - No Connection

When using mstsc when logged into the thin client as administrator,  users are only prompted for login cretentials once and get passed through successfully

I believe that the Appliance runs following the configuration file at C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HPConnector\rdp-template.txt

however changes made to this file do not appear to produce any change in setup. Specifically we are looking at the following settings:

authentication level:i:X

Prompt for Credentials on client:i:X

Prompt for credentials:i:X

I believe this may be an issue related to the security certificates applied to either the load balancer or session hosts, However logging in from the administrator session using mstsc allows the session to connect successfully.

Please let me know if I need to provide any more information

Thanks
Nathan

HP Thin Client T5570 - losing domain authentication after power loss

Model : HP Thin Client T5570

OS: Windows XP Embedded Standard 2009

Agent Version: 4.5.3660.16180

Device Version: 5.1.926

File Based Write Filter

I have been searching for the past year to find a solid solution to resolve losing domain authenication after a power loss.

The following are what i have tried:

Enable FBWF - includes the C:\regfdata

Applied microsoft QFE - kb2487305

ftp://ftp.hp.com/%2F/ftp1/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51546.html

ftp://ftp.hp.com/%2F/ftp1/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51546.exe

The only other option i have found is to disable automatic machine account password changes

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01811745-2

This is not an option in our enviroment.  To me this is not a solid answer at all to the problem.  Has anybody had any real success with this problem without disabling the automatic machine account password?  Would trying to deploy the latest image worth trying, though i have seen that it does not help?

HP T510 - Use RDP or PCoIP

$

In our customer's production VMware environment, some Thin Clients connect by using RDP protocol, while the remaining ones use PCoIP protocol. The customer said the settings look to be all the same, and the firmware version the latest one.
And VMware said the protocol is as the Thin Client's request at connection.
If we force VMware to accept PCoIP ONLY all the devices are going to use it, so we'd like to understand what has happened.

Here are some basic information:
OS running: Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit (we used "Linked Clone" function, so the settings at Windows' side are the same on all the VM)
BIOS Version: 786R11 v1.05 - Release: 06/03/2013
OS Build ID: T6X44017
OS Channel Version: 3.8.13-hp

Since VMware leave the Thin Clients free to choose the protocol (RDP/PCoIP), are there any settings where select the protocol's priority on HP T510?

I checked but I could not find them. Please help me.

T520 WES7 Image Capture Failing with Error Code 1083392 in HPDM 4.6 SP4

$

Hello,

I'm getting the following errors when trying to capture an image in HPDM from a T520 Flexible TC WES7.

The TC reboots initially to clean the overlay then reboots again but doesn't go into WinPE to begin capture like I expect. This is non-PXE so I am confused as to where the WinPE environment comes from, is it on the TC already?

[Error code: 1083392][Module: Agent][Category: Other HPDM workflow error]

[Error Details]: \Ndm\branches\Release_4.6.4\Source\Cpp\Agents\Core\Task\wins\ImageTask_XPE.cpp@104: Failed to check image package existence. \Ndm\branches\Release_4.6.\Source\Cpp\Agents\Core\Task\common\ImageCommon.cpp@900: Image package already exist

I am running:

Brand new install of HPDM 4.6 with SP4 applied

T520 Flexible TC WES7 now with 4.6.3660.21244 (shipped with slightly earlier version)

Repository SMB settings are all tested fine from CMD on the thin client.

Had to manually disable the Write Filter without reboot before the Agent Update to version 21244 would install and commit (Catch 22 since the agent version shipped wouldn't appear to allow HPDM to disable the write filter to allow the update to apply and kept rebooting with filter enabled)

Thanks for any assistance

Adam

thinclient mt41 windows update

I am new to Windows embedded standard 7 SP1 and can't figure out why it will not let me run windows update.  I am only going to have 2 mobile thin clients, mt41's  with a broadband card connected to Verizon with their PCI compliant account.  They only need to have an internet browser that will only go to a paypal site.  There will be no server connections or distribution shares, they will be isolated.  I disabled the write filter and logged in as administrator, but I keep getting the message:

"windows update cannot currently check for updates, because updates on this computer are controlled by your system administrator"

I have seen some articles about group policy settings, but have checked the 3 group policy settings suggested here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/48786-trouble-windows-update-group-policy-2.html

I am wondering if there is some HP setting turned on.  I just want to apply all updates for this OS.  I haven't changed anything on this thinclient yet except what is listed above.  Any suggestions?

Hi,

I' having trouble getting our SCCM boot image to pick up the network card on the HP T620 thin clients.

We use a 32 bit WinPE 3.1 boot image from SCCM 2007.

I have tried the following drivers (win 7 x86)

- From HP Site

realTek PCIe GBE family controller

-from the realtek site

realTek PCIe GBE family controller

I have copied these drivers to the USB drive and loaded them manually with DRVLOAD to test if they work but they dont, when i type 'ipconfig' it displays nothing even after loading the drivers successfully.

I know i have the correct driver as i have checked the hardware id in the Win32_PnpEntity WMI class.

Is there something im missing here?

thanks

Windows XPE - Internet Explorer 8 issue

We have managed to create a working Windows XPE system with Internet Explorer 8 installed with Citrix Receiver Web Plugin.
The system is based on sp43289.exe, with extra drivers installed and unneccessary programs removed.

Everything works fine allowing access to our server farm via the web portal.

When I create an image of this from HP Device Manager 4.6 SP4, and send the image to another device, IE8 will no longer allow me to open the Internet Control Panel, and tries to save web pages to disk instead of opening them.

A browse of the internet has yeilded no results on this - no issues in the registry regarding restrictions.

Can anyone help me resolve this?

HPDM auto-update Web Server

$

I've just completed a new HPDM 4.6 (w/SP4) install to manage t510/t520 thin clients. Everything is installed on a single server, and I'm using FileZilla as the FTP server. All installed ok, and I can communicate/manage the thin clients fine. I've created the 'auto-update' and 'hdpm-gateway' DNS aliases too, and the clients seem to be using this to locate the gateway.

Problem. The clients try to connect to the URL; http://auto-update:18287/auto-update to check for updates, but my server, for some reason, isn't listening on this port. There's no web site configured either (IIS is installed). There was nothing during the install that indicated this was a requirement. I am happy thought do what it takes to get this part working. Is there a way to manually configure this, or is there a follow on process I need to go through?

This is a Windows Server 2012/IIS8 setup by the way.

Thanks
