Hi,

I have to deploy T520 Thin Client, but I Have a problem with USB Key that are not mounted on citrix sessions.

USB Key is plugged before I launch the Citrix Session by xenapp web session.

I've installed  service pack citrixreceiverwtg-13.1.3hp1.3-all-5.1-x86-sq version 1.0

The Client Configuration:

OS version: T6X51007 - ThinPro 1GB i386 5.1.0 build 07

BIOS Version: L41 v01.03

Do I have something to do on the client to make USB storage been recognized and mapped on Citrix?

Thanks for your help

HP Device Manager 4.5 Sends taks, Execute and applies settings but shows up as sending & failed

Hello,

I have this problem that two other people on this forum have.

But there isn't any solution for this.

When the device manager sends tasks i can see them on the Thin client and they apply but they don't show up as finished.

It stays stuck on sending and it can take up to several hours before it shows up as failed.

When i look in the Gateway log I see below code, the report has been made:

(Firewall is disabled on the server)

Hello,

I was wondering what the HP T5730 End of life date is? If not, when will it be?

Many thanks.

Best wishes,

T510 RDP connection drops intermittently only when another session is running

20 or so T510s running ThinPro 5.1.0 (T6X51007) image. Noticed that if a user is running a 2nd session, could be web, or just another RDP (to a different server), the RDP session will intermittently drop for a very short period (2-3 sec) and then reconnect it self. If only a single session is running on the device, the connection is solid.

the RDS server is a 2008R2, and I have other users connecting via RDP on their Win7 machines, with no issues whatsoever.

DHCP is good, network is solid and fast.

Is there a newer image available anywhere?

thx.

HPDM 4.6 - Management Question

$

I am running HPDM 4.6 Server/Gateway on a server in our domain. I am running HPDM 4.6 Console on a couple machines in our domain.

I am looking at giving a couple users a thin client to take home, and let them log in to Citrix from home. That part is taken care of. My question is, can I use HPDM, or possibly some other tool, to manage/maintain a thin client that is not within my domain/network? If so, can someone please point me in that direction?

Thanks.

WES Imaging

I was previously evaluating the t620 running ThinPro 5.1.  Now, I am evaluating the t620 with WES7.  The first task that I would like to do is image the device with the latest available OS from HP.  I figured this would be a straight forward task via HPDM and an already available template.  However, when trying to process the task, it fails with the following error(s):

2015-05-15 11:29:33 [Error code: 1083392] [Module: Agent] [Category: Other HPDM workflow error]

2015-05-15 11:29:33 [Error Details]: \Ndm\branches\Release_4.6.1\Source\Cpp\Agents\Core\Task\wins\ImageTask_XPE.cpp@274: Failed to check bios.
\Ndm\branches\Release_4.6.1\Source\Cpp\Agents\Core\Task\wins\ImageTask_XPE.cpp@2936: The device bios family is not match with the image.
\Ndm\branches\Release_4.6.1\Source\Cpp\Agents\Core\Task\wins\ImageTask_XPE.cpp@2901: System ID does not match,System ID in device: 21B4, in description file: <hardware>
  <architecture>null</architecture>
  <hw_model>t620/t820/t520</hw_model>
</hardware>
.

For grins, I created a USB key with the WES7 image on HP's Support page.  That one appears to be slightly older, but it is applied successfully.  What is interesting is if I take the *.ibr file of the latest image (the one that failed in HPDM) and copy it to the USB key, the t620 images successfully and reports to HPDM with the correct version info (14WWZDCE301).

It would be ideal to image via HPDM, so that I can have it conducted using a First-Contact rule.

I know it was a long read, but any thoughts/suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thin Client T310- DVI-2 is not working on many units

I have a fleet of T310's and the DVI-2(DVI-I) is not working and many of them.  The only way to get it to work is to reset the box to factory defaults.  This will only buy time before it goes down again.

1. Has anyone else had this issue, if so how did you resolve it?

2. Does anyone know if there is a recall or a batch issue that I missed?

Thanks,

HPDM 4.4 Lost Root Password

We recently let go  of one of the admins from the config management team.  This individual changed the root password to HP Device Manager and refused to give it to anyone before his dismissal.

Is there a way we can recover the root password or reinstall HPDM 4.4 to get back in without losing the database?  We are using a PostgreSQL 8.3 installation.  We do not have access to any version above 4.4 since software changes above this version have not been approved by our software managers.  Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Unattended Install for Device Manager 4.6

I am trying to automate deployment of Device Manager 4.6.  The documentation gives an example of:

D:\SoftDist>HP_Device_Manager-4.6.exe /z"--silent --language=en_US --component=CSGM --destination=D:\HPDM --user=root --password=So$ecret --repositorypath=d:\inetpub\ftproot\HPDM --
gatewayconfig=d:\SoftDist\Gateway.cfg"

However, there does not appear to be any documentation for the format of the Gateway Configuration File.  Where can I find this information?

Or, is there a way of generating this file as a part of a manual installation?

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I am installing and configuring HP Device Manager 4.6 and are running on version: 4.6.3610.21251. The enviroment is installed like the situation below:

SRV1 Windows Server 2012 R2 (Installed in a datacenter with a external ip)

- HPDM Server

- HPDM Master Repository

- HPDM Console

- IIS 8.0 FTPS (Configured with a self-signed certificate)

- MS SQL 2012

GW1 Windows 8.1 (Installed in the office)

- HPDM Gateway

TC1 WES8 64-bit (T520)

- New TC - Out of the box

Most of the tasks are working, only the tasks that require a file or image from the repository fails with the following errors:

Task is a Agent Update task:

2015-05-20 16:32:16 Map repository to: Master Repository
2015-05-20 16:32:20 Successfully sent task to the Device Management Gateway
2015-05-20 16:32:27 Task has been retrieved by the Agent.

2015-05-20 16:32:52 Failed to execute common task.

When I install WinSCP on the ThinClient I can make a FTPS connection over port 990.

Does someone know how to solve this issue?

With kind regards,

Citrix Receiver update through HPDM for T620 client

$

Hello,

I have a HPDM 4.6 U4 running. Everything is working fine.

Now I want to upgrade our Citrix Receiver with the original HP Version that they supplied ( http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5404709&swItemId=vc_143476_1&swEnvOid=4089 )

How do I achieve this? I made a new "File and Registry" task but I have an error and the Citrix Receiver isn't installed.

From the Citrix Receiver install info I have this info:

SPACE REQUIREMENTS :

This add-on requires uncompressed free space on the flash memory (Drive C:)
and uncompressed free space in the temporary folder. These space requirements
must be met in order to successfully deploy this add-on.

1) Space required on the flash memory for installation : 203 MB
2) Space required on the flash memory after installation : 122 MB (with NTFS Compression)
3) Space required in the temporary folder for installation : 168 MB

To ensure that the temporary folder always has the required amount of free space
for installation, HP recommends that the %TEMP% and %TMP% variables be
temporarily re-defined to a network share on the deployment server, and that the
setup program be executed from the deployment server. Otherwise, the add-on may fail
to deploy correctly.

REMARKS :

The install package, WES_Citrix_Receiver_4.2_A1.exe, contains only files
for installing Citrix Receiver. It does not execute some commands that are
needed to complete the installation of the component. To successfully deploy this
component to the client, the following steps need to be done.

1) The write filter must be disabled prior to execute the WES_Citrix_Receiver_4.2_A1.exe program

2) The WES_Citrix_Receiver_4.2_A1.exe program must be executed using
the "-s" switch. If this program is not executed using the "-s" switch, the program
may not run correctly.

2) After executing the program, the write filter must be re-enabled
3) A reboot must be executed after the changes are committed to the flash memory.

How do I know if I have enough space? Where can I insert the -s switch to deploy?

Many questions... :-)

This is the error I get:

2015-05-22 10:50:00 Task has been retrieved by the Agent.

Cloning Firefox settings through HPDM

Good day,

We currently have roughly 100 ThinPros( OS T6X51007) within our organization and I have a question about cloning settings through the HPDM (Version 4.6 Service Pack 4) we use. We have made some security changes in firefox and want to send them out via HPDM to all the devixes but I can not see any options within HPDM to clone firefox settings. It seems to can clone almost any other settings through HPDM but the browers.  Is there something I am possibly missing or is it not possible to clone firefox settings?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hello,

The most current O/S image I can find on your website has an update after I

image the machine with update T6X52011.dd.gz. Is there an updated image I can install

that already has this update in it?

Thank you
