HPDM: 'Update Agent' installs Version 4.4.3660.14029 instead of 4.5.3660.16180

Hello,

I have HPDM 4.5 Rev B installed. If i now launch the 'Update Agent' Task on a client, it installs Version 4.4. However:  If I check my Master Repository (I have NO Child Repositories) ,  I see version 4.5 there...

So why doenst Version 4.5 get installed on the Client?

(I know: 4.5 Rev B is NOT the newest version of HPDM, but I cannot imagine, that this is the problem...)

Thank you for your support,

Simon

[T510] Citrix Receiver & Hide published apps

Hello,

I´m using the Citrix Receiver on a HP Thin Client t510 (Smart Zero Image) and have the following problem:

We have two applications which are assigned to all domain users in Citrix.

But on Thin Clients I don´t want to publish those two apps. Is it possible to hide / filter those two apps on the thin client?

Sure, I could hide all icons on desktop / start menue and task bar and autostart my application, but then it isn´t possible to restart the application without logging out.

Thanks in advance.

T5135 usb storage gets disabled in remote session in win 2012 while modifying/deleting

Hello friends!

We have around 20 thin clients and a Windows 2012 Terminal server. While the thin clients connect and work for the most part, some issues are still there.

The mouse cursor is not visible at times.

When logging off, the session terminates but hangs with blank screen. It does not go back to The thin connect startup screen. We need to cut off power and power on. This is leading to frequent damage to image and we need to re-image the client.

Lastly, the USB storage drives seem to operate in read only mode. Any attempt to save a file after modification or if we try to delete a file, the drive gets disconnected for the session. We need to log off and on to see the drive again.

Basically these are the old Linux based thin clients. Any way to work around these issues?

Thanks in advance.

T510 Smart Zero Client printer redirection problem form version 42019

I state that I solved the problem of redirection of printers via the RPD on my Windows 2008 R2 (update to the last patch and i have 3 of these servers) updating the terminal to an old version of the software, the Smart Core Zero Image Z6X41019 Rev. 1 ( 7 March 2012 ) .

With all the successive versions of the terminal software the terminal session work but the printer is no redirect .
I have 10 of these terminals and would love to find a solution in order to install newer versions like the actual Smart Core Zero Image Z6X43201 Rev. 1 ( 13 May 2013).
Improve performance, allow you to store your password , support the protocole Velocity etc. ..

I suppose the problem is in the version of RDP version that change from 41019 to 42019 because the problem form taht version and it seems the only possible factor in the change notes .

If anyone has found a way to work with these terminals with new versions of the software I hope can share with the community the solution. I would be grateful.

I still have a T510 in the office on which I do my tests,  but now I do not know what to try : _)

Modifying Citrix Receiver config files on t410

Hi,

I am trying to get a webcam to work with Citrix XenDesktop via a HP t410 running smart zero core
Webcam support works brilliantly from a Windows PC, but whilst t works on the thin client it brings the whole unit to a crawl and video is jerky.

I am wondering if disabling HDX Realtime Webcam will improve performance (by removing the need for the thin client to compress the video stream). This is done by modifying some config files. I need to modify either module.ini or wfclient.ini and USB.conf. However I modify the files and connect to the server and Citrix HDX webcam is still in use. I return to the config files and find that the changes I made have been removed.

I have tried modifying:

/writable/home/user/.ICAClient/USB.conf
/writable/home/user/.ICAClient/wfclient.ini
/usr/lib/ICAClient/USB.conf
/usr/lib/ICAClient/config/module.ini

I have tried capturing these files and deploying them with Smart Zero services (which does work because the files appear automatically, but they still get overwritten when you connect)

Instead of keeping stabbing in the dark, I thought someone might be able to tell me what I'm missing.

Dan

Thin Client reinstallation

Hi all,

we have currently Thin Clients with Windows XP Embedded installed. Now we want to upgrade them to Windows Standard Embedded 7. The Clients are T5730 1GBF/1GB from the year 2009.

Should this work?

I can't test one because they are on an other location and are in use.

T510 rdpclip.exe crash

Hello,

We have a few employees in our company which are using the Thin Client T510.

They work with two RDP Sessions on Windows Terminal Servers. After about 30 Minutes of working, the rdpclip.exe crashs and they can't copy between the two sessions anymore. (They have to copy a lot of text.)

I wrote a Batch Script which restarts the rdpclip.exe in the terminal session, but it don't work. I found out that the system clipboard chain breaks and only a relog in the session resolves this issue.

But this is annoying for the employees. They have to relog about 5-10 times a day.

Does anyone know a solution for this issue?

Many thanks!

PS: Sorry for my "bad" english. I hope the most part is written properly.

t410 keeps trying to download a non-existent image from auto-update

We have just obtained a brand new t410 base device which is completely factory configured.

I have installed the Smart Zero Client Services on a server with IIS and configured it as per the documentation.

I have added the dns alias and DHCP option and configured it with the auto-update webpage address.

The default profile hasn't been modified yet.

There are no files in ANY of the directories other than the default files created during install.

Everything appears correct.

When the device boots it gets DHCP including the option.

It then displays what is shown in the attachment: auto-update_log.jpg

It reboots, attempts downloading the image and fails with this message: auto-update_fail.jpg

IIS logs show what is in the attached txt file.

I am stumped as to why this is occuring.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

t410 Dual Display - Trouble with the VGA display

$

Hello all -

I have started testing a set of t410 thin clients that purportedly support dual display on the VGA and DP ports.

In my case, I have a Dell P2014h 1600x900 display attached to the VGA port and the same attached to the DP port.

I have configured the thin client to extend the desktop and while the configuration appears to be correct the VGA display appears to be being driven at the wrong resolution - it is woefully underscanned and the colors are not correct. The DP display works beautifully.

I have confirmed I am on the most recent image and have tested various combinations of primary/secondary and even tried forcing the resolution and frequency settings to 1600x900/60hz to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.

T410 and T5565Z smart client issues

$

We have recently updated our T410 and T5565Z clients to support VDI in a box 5.3 and now have a problem with the customized login screen.  Before we had a custom background and logo with the login box central on the screen with a grey outline.  We also hid all the icons/settings accept the power button.

After updating the clients the login box is highlighted in green and is no longer central on the screen.  I can't find anything in the manual for changing this.  We also have an extra network information icon at the bottom of the login box.  This allows the user to start/stop the networking as well as get into the system information.  I have gone through all the registry settings in the profile editor and have disabled everything but it still leaves the network information icon.

Can anyone help with these issues as I am finding the documentation to be a bit vague.

T610, ThinPro 4.3 HPDM 4.5Sp3 hpdmagent breaks after Lynk-RTME package install

We are migrating to a new VDI environment based on Citrix, and I was able to get it to run after putting in 2 packages,

I installed ThinPro-4.3-Citrix-SP1-x86.xar and it didn't break the HPDMAgent.

After I installed the citrix sp1, I did some tests and everything seemed to work fine.  However, after I put in the CitrixReceiver-Lync-RTME14-42-43-1-x86.xar package,  it breaks the agent.  When I send a  "get device properties" Job from the device manager, I receive an error.
2013-11-13 15:36:02    ErrorCode: 14000072, Error Detail: Child process crashed.

Should I not use this package? or should i use the RTME13.

HP T5730 XPe SP-3 TeemTalk 7.0 Soft Buttons Not Working As Expected

I am trying to program the soft keys in TeemTalk 7.0.  I have built "scripts" using the in build tools.

When I open a saved session the soft keys are displayed as expected.  However pressing one of the

keys does not run the associated scripts. An example script name is <'s:\hp-T5730\login.spt'>

It I open the script editor and click run it works?  Now if I click the softkey it runs.

Exiting and reruning TeemTalk 7.0 then opening the saved session fills in the softkeys as expected

however clicking one of them does not run the script unless I forst open it in "Tools", "Script".

I am at a loss.

Device Manager Additional Gateway

$

Is there any real good information regarding adding an additional gateway to HP Device Manager? I have my original Gateway and Server on my Internal Network which is communicating fine with my thin clients.

I have installed a Gateway on a server in our DMZ so our home based Agents who have Thin Clients can check in. The Internal Server is communicating with the Gateway in the DMZ but the Thin Clients are not checking in to the External gateway.

We have opened ports 40000 and 40001. And have entered both IP's on the Thin Client Agent

Any help would be appreciated

managing thin clients

$

I have 40 t5740 thin clients. I use them just to establish a RD connection with a server. Generally, I manage them individidualy such as fixing the clocks, establishing automatic start up and shut down times since we are at a university in which the operating hours change with the semester.

Is their an application I can use to perform such tasks such as changnig the time on the clocks remotely without having to go to each machine? I've done a little homework, but I can't see to grasp what program does what, which ones require me to buy a license for each thin, etc....

Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated.

So if HP Easy Tools does not work with 7p. How do you configure the client?

$

From the reference guide.

HP Easy Tools is a wizard that helps you create a complete configuration to use on HP thin clients.

This wizard is not available on the WES 7 P image.

However T610 WES7p has no more features enabled than 7E, how do you get them installed?

Applocker, bitlocker, Anti-malware/defender

I spoke to to HP support and they told me I needed to upgrade to windows embedded 8, and closed the case!

Problem auto imaging new HP T610

$

I have a bunch of new HP T610s that I need to image. I have used one to create the environment I want, and I can manually copy that image to the HPDM, then manually deploy that image to a new (auto discovered) thin client.

When I add a "Rule" for First Contact Rules:

Name: Automatic Image

Filter Set (Criteria All, IP Address contains 10.22 which is the first two parts of all our internal IP space, I really wanted a filter that would just say all/any) If I click Generate Device List it shows all existing devices.

Trigger: First Contact

OS: HP WES/XPe

Category: Imaging

Template: 20131118 rule template (auto created when I manually took the image)

Enabled: tick

When I plug in a new HP T610, it is automatically discovered by HPDM (DHCP specifies the HPDM), and then proceeds to reboot in a cycle, and never actually does the imaging task.

The HPDM log shows:

Map repository to Master Repository

Successfully sent task to the Device Management Gateway

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

Task has been retrieved by the Agent

etc, until I cancel the task

Reset task status to Canceled

Can anyone advise what I might be doing wrong, or how I can make this work? Do I need to manually start an imaging task, is the "first seen" not working properly, do I need to restrict the filter to avoid "already seen" devices somehow?

Thanks for any suggestions.
